Authorize Staff to Advertise for Bids for Long View Road Water Transmission Main Extension, Project No. 12-2013 / CIP No. 50900. Estimated Cost: $2,300,000.00.

Summary:

The Project is based on the July 2009 report titled, “Final Water Supply Study Rapid City Regional Airport, Rapid City, South Dakota”, by KLJ and AE2S. A 16” PVC water transmission main is proposed to be extended east along Long View Road from an existing 16” main at the Anderson Road intersection to the Rapid City Airport. . This project consists of approximately 11,000 feet of 16 inch water main and associated appurtenances. The improvements when constructed will provide 3,000 gpm for fire protection and allow an additional 500 gpm to be made available for growth/economic development in and around the airport. The project will also provide redundancy by looping the distribution system.
