First Reading, Ordinance 5982, An Ordinance Amending the Definition of Structural Alteration Within the Sign Code to Permit Maintenance of Existing Signs by Amending Section 17.50.080 of the Rapid City Municipal Code
Summary:
This amendment will not permit additional digital signs, increase the number of digital signs within the city, or permit an increase in the size of existing signs.  This ordinance amendment would amend the definition of “structural alteration” or “structural change” to permit the maintenance and repair of digital signs without a sign building permit.  The ordinance as amended would allow for the maintenance and replacement of digital components or digital modules on existing digital signs in order to avoid their deterioration.
