5/6/13 Council Action - Acknowledged the Rapid City Senior Need Assessment and Service Gap Analysis and requested Mayor to authorize staff to review and recommend city sponsored action items with report to be provided at the July 10, 2013 Legal & Finance Committee meeting.
The City Council approved on June 6, 2011 the cancellation and reauthorization of Vision 2012 FY 2013 funds that were set aside for a new Senior Center in the amount $33,625. It was determined that the project would not be ready to move forward in FY 2013 and that there needed to be an assessment of senior needs and gaps in services in order to determine what type of facility and services were needed. Council approved the reallocation of the funds to the Senior Collaborative Group to conduct a survey and study of the gaps in services and needs for seniors. Sandy Diegle served as facilitator for the process. |
