The state legislature recently passed HB 1081, which provides that municipal officers are to be reappointed annually unless the governing body provides otherwise by ordinance. This ordinance would require that Department Directors and the Mayor’s Office Program Coordinator only need to be appointed once when hired. They would not need to be reappointed every year.
An amendment to the ordinance was approved at the 4/15/2013 City Council meeting to delete the Executive Assistant from the ordinance. |
