Summary: |

The Airport Board consists of 5 members who serve 3 year terms. Currently, 3 of those 5 members’ terms expire at the same time. In order to avoid this situation happening again in the future, the Board is proposing this ordinance change. The ordinance will revise the terms to be 5 years long, and the terms will be staggered so that only 1 member’s term expires each year. The balance of the ordinance related to membership on the Board will remain the same. Additionally, a revision is being made to require changes the Board makes to the Airport’s Primary Guiding Documents be approved by Council. This is in response to a recent state law change requiring approval by the City’s governing body. |
