Authorize Staff to Purchase an IBAK Rapid View sewer camera system for the Water Reclamation Division in the amount of $272,000 from Titan Machinery using the National Joint Powers Agreement (022014).
Summary:
Request by the Water Reclamation Division to purchase a Mainline / Lateral line sewer camera from the National Joint Powers Agreement. The selected unit is an IBAK Rapid View system that is marketed locally by Titan Machinery and is the only local vendor of sewer televising equipment.  The request to purchase from the NJPA is due to the complex nature of this type of equipment.  In this particular case the selected unit has a slightly higher price. $272,000 vrs 268,577.92, however had the best user references of the two systems that were reviewed and found acceptable for use.   The existing televising unit operated by the Utility Maintenance crew has had a number of maintenance issues being out of service 3 out of 10 months this year.  Purchase of a new camera system is part of an overall plan to expand our capabilities in routine inspection and maintenance of our sanitary sewer system. The new system incorporates a new software system that will facilitate better sharing and storage of inspection information for local system engineers / designers.
