The applicant is requesting to annex approximately 34 acres of property located in the southeast quadrant of Catron Boulevard and 5th Street. This property is contiguous to the City limits. The petition appears to meet all requirements for consideration under the provisions for a voluntary annexation. The northernmost 700 ft. (approximately) of the property requested to be annexed is currently zoned General Commercial in Pennington County. Following annexation, the City has 120 days to initiate a rezone application. The rezone application is forthcoming. The City may pay the Rapid Valley Rural Fire District all, or a portion, of the subject property’s share of the District’s indebtedness estimated at $13,613.00 |
