This request is presented in conjunction with the request to Authorize staff to Purchase 21 Flashback 3 HD Digital Video Systems from L3 Mobile-Vision Inc. The Rapid City Police Department applied for and was awarded the 2016 Fiscal Year Highway Safety Grant. The grant objectives are to decrease the number of injuries that result from automobile accidents through additional enforcement of speeding, occupant protection and impaired driving. The grant will provide matching funds for equipment and enforcement overtime. |

The funding source is the Police Department Budget, account number 0201. The City cost for the camera purchase is $64,533 and the grant funding for the purchase is $36,750. City cost for the DUI overtime is $2,972.64 and that same amount is matched by the grant funding. City cost for the Stalker Lidars is $3032 and the grant funding for the purchase is $12,128. City cost on the speed and occupant protection overtime is $952.32 and the grant funding for this is $3,809.28. |
