AN ORDINANCE RECLASSIFYING THE EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT/PROGRAM COORDINATOR WITHIN THE MAYOR’S OFFICE SO THE POSITION IS NO LONGER AN OFFICER OF THE CITY BY REPEALING SECTION 2.12.070 OF THE RAPID CITY MUNICIPAL CODE. |
Summary: |
In 2011, Mayor Kooiker reclassified the executive assistant in the Mayor’s Office and the City Council approved an ordinance making the executive assistant/program coordinator an officer of the City requiring an official appointment and the consent of the City Council. Mayor Allender has decided to reclassify the position and the change in duties and responsibilities means that the executive assistant no longer needs to be an officer of the City. This ordinance carries out that change. |
Funding Source & Fiscal Impact (if applicable): |
None. The position is already funded and the changes proposed by the Mayor will result in an overall financial savings. |
