First Reading,  Ordinance No. 6010 An Ordinance to Regulate Hobby Beekeeping by Adopting Chapter 6.20 of the Rapid City Municipal Code
Summary:
At its meeting on July 7, 2014, the City Council directed staff to bring forward an ordinance permitting hobby beekeeping in residential districts.  Accordingly, staff is bringing forward this ordinance in Title 6 Animals to regulate hobby beekeeping within City limits.  A companion ordinance, Ordinance 6013, amends the zoning code in Title 17 to permit hobby beekeeping in residential districts; this was reviewed by the Planning Commission at its meeting on April 9, 2015.
