A request was received in the Public Works Office on December 9, 2014 requesting the requirement to install sidewalk per City of Rapid City Ordinance 12.08.060 be waived. This request is associated with a building permit for a single family residence. The subject property is located on the south side of Hill Street just west of the intersection of Carolyn Court. The property has approximately 86 feet of frontage on the south side of Hill Street. The topography slopes uphill to the south. Hill Street is a local street with approximately 30 feet of pavement width with curb/gutter and is constructed in approximately 60 feet of right-of-way. As noted in the attached letter from the property owner, no parcels on the south side of Hill Street near this home currently have sidewalk due to steep terrain. This parcel is located in the Boulevard Addition Subdivision. This parcel is near the end of Hill Street and is located east of Dinosaur Hill with little through traffic. |
