MOU between Rapid City Fire Department and Northwest Engineering
Summary:
This MOU is an agreement to use the City Veteran Fuels Crew funded by the BLM Wildfire Community Assistance Grant to do fuel mitigation work on NWE property adjacent to the Kingswood subdivision.  This work will compliment work completed by NWE on an adjacent parcel done to help protect Kingswood from the effects of a wildfire on their property.  This previous work was done at their expense, with some cost share with the city fuels mitigation cost share program.  This MOU will enable the BLM Veteran crew to complete the mitigation in the area, as NWE has expended over $50,000 to date, at the request of the RCFD, and did not plan to complete the other parcel at this time.  This is a good example of different parties working together to accomplish a common goal, in this case community safety from wildfire.

BLM Wildfire Community Assistance Grant with support from Parks and Fire Departments.
