Summary: |
In an effort to maintain a more efficient vehicle fleet, this year the RCPD will surplus several older/high mileage “unmarked” police vehicles. The Humane Society of the Black Hills has interest in the two higher older/ high mileage vehicles (listed below) to be used for animal recovery purposes: assisting the City of Rapid City. 2001 FORD EXCURSION, white in color, approximate mileage: 120,000 miles, VIN:1FMNU41SX1EB88656 2005 DODGE DURANGO, white in color, approximate mileage: 130,000 miles, VIN:1D4HB4D25F594271 |
Funding Source & Fiscal Impact (if applicable): |
Unclaimed surplus vehicles are normally sold at the annual City Auction. Similar and comparable vehicles typically sell at auction for around $1500- $3000. If approved, these two vehicles would be given to the Humane Society of the Black Hills instead of being sold at the auction. |
