14TP013 - Authorize submission of the South Dakota Department of Health’s Walk Audit Grant and Receipt of Funds associated with the grant
Summary:
The South Dakota Department of Health is offering a $5000 grant to communities for conducting walk audits. The goal of a walk audit is to encourage walking in communities and promote healthier lifestyles. The grant will assist in the planning of the walk audit events. The events of the walk audit include community outreach to understand where the community feels the most and least comfortable walking, so that communities can develop an action plan to address issues found during the audit.
Funding Source & Fiscal Impact (if applicable):
South Dakota Department of Health, Office of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion; there is no local match required.
