Agenda Title: |

Summary: |
BHB&L would like to install a large on-premises sign which would be visible from the interstate to draw more traffic to the VIC. The sign is not video or electronic and would only display on-premises messages. Because of the land the City transferred to Cabella’s, the lot the VIC sits on technically has no street frontage and therefore cannot build a sign. If the land would not have been transferred, there would have been enough frontage to legally obtain a permit for the sign they propose.
BHB&L has requested that the City authorize a sign permit. This is not an accurate description of its request. The VIC is currently in a planned development. The VIC can request approval of the sign they propose, but it will take a major amendment to the planned development. Since the City owns the lot the VIC is requesting the City’s authorization to make and be a co-applicant on the VIC’s request for a major amendment to install the sign. If approved the VIC would then work through the planning process and the amendment would need to be approved by the Planning Commission. |
