Approve Request from Todd Stainbrook for a Variance to Waive the Requirement to Install Sidewalk per City Ordinance 12.08.060 Along Country Club Court for the Property Located at 3019 Country Club Court.


A request was received in the Engineering Office on January 23, 2015 requesting the requirement to install sidewalk per City of Rapid City Ordinance 12.08.060 be waived. A 4 foot sidewalk is required to be constructed along Country Club Court. The requested variance will allow for construction of a single family residence without the installation of sidewalk in the adjacent right-of-way. Adjacent Country Club Court is a lane/place street with curb and gutter, and no sidewalk. There are six single family residences on Country Club Ct, none of which have sidewalk. There is a curb opening on the north side of the property that takes drainage from the cul-de-sac and a sidewalk bridge is needed if sidewalk is installed. The nearest sidewalk is in Sheridan Lake Road, approximately 200 to the east. This property has approximately 60 of frontage requiring sidewalk along Country Club Ct.
