15PD033 - Final Planned Development Overlay to allow a mini storage in the General Commercial District


The applicant has submitted a request for a Final Planned Development Overlay to allow construction of ministorage units in a phased project located on property zoned General Commercial District.  The submitted plans show that Phases 1 and 2 consist of 14 structures with a total of 96,200 square feet of storage space proposed.  Ministorage units are a conditional use in the General Commercial District and require certain design criteria to be met.  The applicant is requesting Exceptions to the design criteria which conflict with the development standards of the neighborhood.   A meeting is set up for October 5, 2015 to discuss the design and development of the site.  Staff will inform the Planning Commission at the October 8, 2015 Planning Commission meeting as to the results of the meeting and provide a revised Project Report if appropriate.
