Addendum #1 to the Agreement Between the City of Rapid City and the Alliance of Tribal Tourism Advocates for the completion of the Powwow Grounds and Native Arts Market Funded in Part Through the Rapid City Vision Fund.
Summary:
ATTA is proposing to hold a weekly native arts event at Main Street Square every Tuesday this summer from June 1st through the 1st of September. This is viewed, at least in part, as a demonstration of the viability of the powwow ground and native arts market project. The cost to ATTA to hold this event at the square will be $25,000. ATTA has received permission to use some of the funds it has raised to construct the project to pay for the use of the square to hold these weekly events. ATTA has requested that the City increase its share of the funding for construction of the project by an equivalent amount to offset the decreased construction funds available to ATTA. The proposed addendum increases the City’s share of the cost by the amount requested and also delays the date by which the financing needs to be brought back to the City Council until after completion of the proposed weekly event (from July 6^th to early fall).
