Agenda Title:
Notification the RCPD was not awarded the recent 2015 DOJ COPS Hiring Grant and request for alternative staffing increase.
Summary:
Unfortunately, the RCPD was not awarded a COPS hiring grant this year.  Previously, we included 25% funding of wages and benefits for 6 Officers in the 2016 budget.  In lieu of the grant officers, we are requesting the Council to approve 1 additional Police Officer position, and 1 additional Community Service Officer position.
