Summary: |

|
Lisa Steinken, the Agriscience teacher at Central High School has requested authorization to use city parkland adjacent to the school to build a school garden. The space being requested is 35 foot by 50 foot for the garden area, and space as needed to install a ramp from the parking lot to ensure accessibility. The space will be managed by Central students as part of curriculum in the spring, summer and fall. Students have created a professional design for raised garden beds that will be used to increase hands-on education through multiple classes and will generate proceeds to assist students experiencing homelessness. The space being requested is located just south of the teacher parking lot on the west side of the school. |
