14TP048 - Staff requests authorization
to release a Request for Proposals for LiDAR, Orthophotography, and Elevation
Contours to be collected during the Spring of 2015. The 2015 Unified Planning
Work Program, through the Rapid City Area Metropolitan Planning Organization
has programmed $200,000 for this project. The RFP is expected to be released
on December 16, with the photography collected during April or May of 2015
when conditions are optimal for high quality images. During these months, the
sun angle, leaf-off conditions of the trees, and lack of snow cover provide
the best combination of conditions for our area. The largest portion of the
funding comes from federal funding through the Transportation Planning
program.
