A request was received in the Public Works Office on June 16, 2014 requesting the requirement to install sidewalk per City of Rapid City Ordinance 12.08.060 be waived. A 5 foot sidewalk is required to be constructed one foot from the property line along Harley Drive. The requested variance will allow for a commercial building expansion of more than 20% at the location of Black Hills Harley Davidson without the installation of sidewalk in the adjacent right-of-way. Adjacent Harley Drive is a commercial street with curb and gutter and no sidewalk. The closest sidewalks to this property are located approximately 2 miles away. |
