Staff recommends City Council choose Option 1 or Option 2 at the November 18, 2013 Council Meeting. Option 1: Recommend to reject all bids and authorize Staff to re-advertise the project with no traffic calming features. Option 2: Approve award of Minnewasta Water Main Reconstruction & Street Rehabilitation Project No. 12-2060 / CIP No. 50383 opened on November 12, 2013 to the lowest responsible bidder, Hills Materials in the amount of $553,659.85, and to Authorize staff to prepare a Contract Change Order to remove the traffic calming features from the contract. |

Replace existing water mains prone to corrosion and that have neared the end of their useful life, install ADA ramps, install traffic calming features, mill & overlay, full depth replacement as needed, install chimney seals/adjusting rings, portions of C&G and drain pan(s) as needed.. |
