Agenda Title:
Authorize Mayor and Finance Officer to Sign Agreement Between the City of Rapid City and Black Hills Power, Inc., for Reimbursement of Underground Utility Expenses for the Mount Rushmore Road Project.
Summary:
This Agreement allows reimbursement to Black Hills Power for oversize costs associated with moving electric utility lines in conjunction with the Mount Rushmore Road reconstruction project.  The Council approved funding these costs through the Vision Fund.  The lines would need to be moved for the project, which costs are attributable to Black Hills Power.  The oversize costs to bury those lines (vs. relocating overhead lines) are to be reimbursed by the City up to $1,000,000.  If for some reason expenses exceed that amount, the City and BH Power agree to negotiate an amendment to address unforeseen expenses.
