3) Provide Rapid Transit Service to Star Village, Alderman Kooiker and Hadley. French moved, second by Hurlbut to authorize the expenditure of $39,700 out of Council contingency to begin public transportation service to Star Village. In response to Alderman Olson, Sagen said that in order to implement this route, an additional driver must be hired, and Sagen agreed to provide prorated costs to the Council on Monday night. French offered a substitute motion to request that Rapid Transit begin public transportation service to the Star Village area on a trial basis from March 1, 2005 through July, 2005 and to report back to the Council at the end of the trial period.
